Registration Schedule for Synod 2020

As you know, Covid 19 has altered many plans. At present, we are still planning on having Synod 2020--whether online or in person. Below are the revised dates as we know them now.

Please review what follows and take note of the necessary actions required for each step. The Lord bless you and us as we pray and work together for God’s Kingdom among us.

Step One: Invoicing

June 3 - June 30:

All local churches, regardless of size, will be invoiced by the Diocesan Operations Manager or designee for the number of delegates (clergy and lay numbers as allowed by DWA Canons). No names will be requested at this time (see Step 2). The delegate number represents the local church’s maximum number of representatives for the Diocesan Synod (this is a number based on the ASA the local church reported to the Province for the previous year and does not depend on whether or not all the delegates will be able to attend).

Step Two: Clergy Register for CLergy Gathering and Synod

June 15-June 30

I. Clergy Gathering: The local church, regardless of size, will register all clergy (NOTE: all Deacons, Priests and Postulants are required to attend the Clergy Gathering 2020) via an Eventbrite link established by the Diocesan staff (Link coming April 1)

  • The Diocesan budget covers the registration, food and event cost for the Clergy Gathering.
  • The local church covers transportation and lodging for the Clergy Gathering.
  • The Diocesan Staff will provide a password to each church

II. Synod 2020 Registration

The local church, regardless of size, will register all their clergy and lay delegates for the Synod 2020 via a Diocesan provided Eventbrite link.

  • Since the church has already funded the registration fee for each delegate (see Step 1), there are no additional costs associated with this registration.
  • The goal of this stage is to focus on names and contact information for Synod delegates and not on others who in the coming months will also be invited to attend.
  • The Diocesan Staff will provide a password to each church.

Step Three: Clergy Families

June 15-October 16:

Registration for clergy spouses, youth and children for Clergy Gathering 2020.

It is vital that clergy families discuss their level of involvement in the Clergy Gathering so that the Diocesan staff may prepare the spouse’s ministry program, youth mission program and the ministry program to the children.

Step Four: Open Registration $25

July 1-August 30

  • All attendees who are not delegates
  • All youth (all middle and high school youth)

This registration will include the selection of training preferences.

September 1-30

Late registration continues for:
